I had been a dog owner for many years, using traditional dog-training methods when my husband and I brought a rescue border collie into our home.
A beautiful and intelligent dog, which worked fantastically well at the ‘Dog Training Classes’ but became a ‘nightmare’ at home.
The ‘obedience’ work did not seem to apply once we had left the training field and her behaviour grew more difficult and worrying with each passing year.
I asked for help from my trainers and even sought the advice of a ‘behaviourist’, but nothing seemed to make a difference.
I then spent a long time searching for a way of changing my dog’s behaviour, only realising a number of years down the line that I too needed to change, particularly in the way I was dealing with her.
Through attending courses, workshops, seminars and home study I found ways of positively changing my dog’s behaviour without the use of force, coercion or gadgets.
I am so grateful that I have been able to attend courses and workshops run by trainers such as Turid Rugaas, Sarah Fisher and Sheila Harper and I am committed to continuing my learning as there is still so much to know about these wonderful creatures and, I believe, this will also enable me to offer better service to my clients.

'Enjoyed every minute of the consultation. Everything Sue said made sense and Sheba is responding really well. A brilliant morning!' - Shona Booth
"Sue’s quiet and unassuming manner along with listening skills means she gains a whole picture of your dogs life during her consultation. Her advice with clear instructions is easy to understand and her follow up email communication equally as good. Our house is far more canine friendly thanks to her". Debbie Winrow
Overjoyed with the progress so far - only one 'accident' in the house in 2 weeks. Lovely not to have to clean up after the dog every night. Thanks Sue xxx Donna Shirley
Hi Sue, Just wanted to thank you for coming over yesterday. We put the action plan into practice as soon as you left & I am amazed at the result in such a short time.
The feeding worked like a dream, I prepared their food, ate a biscuit, put the bowls down without making eye contact & went into the living room, Ollie ate all the food in his bowl & then came into the living room, then Escher ate all his food. They both settled down & we had a very calm, quiet evening.
Escher growled at someone walking by the window this morning, I thanked him, went & looked out, then sat back down again. 10 mins later someone else walked past & he just looked at me, then watched them walk past without making a sound. I am sure that the rest of the plan will work as well. Max & I are so pleased you came, we can see that this is going to work really well & our dogs are going to be so much happier from now on.
Once again thank you so much, we will keep up the plan, All the best, Sue Levitt
Sue, It was a delight to meet you last weekend. We have been putting the majority of the things you taught us in to practise. I already feel there is a great improvement with the barking and the jumping up and my sister and my mum and dad agreed when they called in yesterday.
'I also think that by just using the silent gestures of head and back turning on unwanted behaviours, it has reduced all of our stress levels significantly' Sarah Francis
Hi Sue It was great to meet you and many thanks for all the information and advice you gave us. It’s a relief to find someone to guide us with Tala who sits in the dog whispering camp but who can also bring in other knowledge too to make things a little less rigid (i.e. more than just one, inflexible school of thought).
