I had been a dog owner for many years, using traditional dog-training methods
when my husband and I brought a rescue border collie into our home.

She was a beautiful and intelligent dog, who worked fantastically well at the ‘Dog
Training Classes’ but became a ‘nightmare’ at home. The ‘obedience’ work did
not seem to apply once we had left the training field and her behaviour grew
more difficult and worrying with each passing year.

I asked for help from my trainers and even sought the advice of a ‘behaviourist’,
but nothing seemed to make a difference.

Then I discovered the work of Jan Fennell ‘The Dog Listener’. In 2003 I attended
her Foundation Course and was then invited back to attend her Advanced
Course in Canine Communication.

By applying the method that I’d been taught, my husband and I turned around
our dog’s behaviour and she became a dog we were so proud of.
I have absolute respect for the work of Jan Fennell but also see the value in
continued study of the work of other like-minded trainers, such as Turid Rugaas,
Paul Owens and Sarah Fisher.

I continue to attend workshops and courses in techniques, which will
compliment my ‘canine communication’ training, thus enabling me to offer a
fuller service to my clients.

"Sue’s quiet and unassuming manner along with  listening skills means she gains a whole
picture of your dogs life during her consultation. Her advice with clear instructions is easy
to understand and her follow up email communication equally as good.  Our house is far
more canine friendly thanks to her".

Hi Sue,
Just wanted to thank you for coming over yesterday. We put the action plan into practice
as soon as you left & I am amazed at the result in such a short time.
The feeding worked like a dream, I prepared their food, ate a biscuit, put the bowls down
without making eye contact & went into the livingroom, Ollie ate all the food in his bowl &
then came into the living room, then Escher ate all his food. They both settled down & we
had a very calm, quiet evening.
Escher growled at someone walking by the window this morning, I thanked him, went &
looked out, then sat back down again. 10 mins later someone else walked past & he just
looked at me, then watched them walk past without making a sound. I am sure that the
rest of the plan will work as well. Max & I are so pleased you came, we can see that this is
going to work really well & our dogs are going to be so much happier from now on.
Once again thank you so much, we will keep up the plan.
All the best,
Sue Levitt
